WHY AUTOMATER

Every CLI forgets. Automater doesn't.

A simple tray app that keeps your AIs organized — and under control.

The problem

You run five assistants a day. Each one keeps its own diary — in its own format, in its own corner of your disk.

Scattered on disk

Transcripts pile up in vendor dirs nobody opens. Ten formats, zero search.

One searchable library, every vendor.

No usage picture

Tokens burn across ten separate meters you can't see in one place. Quota surprises included, free of charge.

Every meter on one dial.

Silent finishes

Agents wrap up in background terminals and wait, politely, forever. You find out at standup.

The library

One archive for every assistant.

Lite imports and normalizes sessions from Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Grok, Kimi, Antigravity, Qwen Code, Z.ai GLM, OpenCode, and Copilot into a single library on your machine. Search everything. Resume anything.

  • Full-text search across every transcript, every vendor format
  • One click resumes a session back into its own terminal
  • Vault redaction scrubs what should never leave your machine

Fleet awareness

Know the moment an agent needs you.

Lite detects the AI apps installed on your machine and watches their sessions live. When an agent blocks on a question or a permission prompt, the panel flags it. While everything's working, it stays out of your way. Ten agents working means ten chances something stalls — Automater is the teacher that keeps the class moving.

  • Automatic detection of installed AI CLIs and apps
  • Amber when something needs you, green while agents work
  • Session status without alt-tabbing through ten terminals

Usage & leaderboard

Your tokens, counted. Bragging optional.

A local collector meters token spend across every CLI and draws it on your Home screen. Publish to leaderboard.automater.ai only if you opt in — under your GitHub identity, with evidence confidence tiers and README badges (SVG/JSON) to embed anywhere.

  • Local meters work with no account at all
  • Opt-in publishing, GitHub identity, confidence tiers
  • Medals for the top of the board — badges for your README

Voice

Talk to your machine. It types. It acts.

Press the global hotkey and speak. Dictation lands in whatever app has focus — speech-to-text on your own GPU, with auto, local, and cloud modes. Or give it an order instead: permissioned computer control clicks, types, and navigates any app on your desktop, exactly like you would.

Dictate anywhere. Command anything. Every AI in the room answers to Automater.

One assistant, every model

Take back your life.

Collapse the chat-app sprawl into one Master Assistant. Tell Auto what you want done, and it routes the task to the best matching model — no model-picking, no app-hopping.

Best fit, automatically.

Auto matches each task with the model best suited to the job, then sends it where it needs to go.

Many models. One answer.

When a task benefits from more than one perspective, Auto consults several and returns one synthesized reply.

Usage-aware by design.

It accounts for usage and limits across providers, balancing the work so your model stack operates as one.

Home & widgets

Your Home. Your order. Your desktop.

Home is a stack of glass cards — Usage, Live activity, Recent sessions, Files, Spotlight, and friends. Pin them, collapse them, drag them into your order. Then pop any card out as an always-on-top floating widget.

  • Pin, collapse, and reorder every Home card
  • Any card becomes a frameless always-on-top widget
  • Shell transparency slider — from solid panel to glass

FAQ

Straight answers.

Is Automater Lite free?

Yes. Lite is the free companion app. The full Automater Desktop ADE is a separate product — Lite works with it, but never requires it.

Is it Windows-only?

Today, yes — Windows 10/11 x64, built on Tauri 2. macOS and Linux builds are planned; grab a waitlist spot from the download section above.

Where does my data live?

On your machine. Lite reads sessions from your CLIs’ own directories and stores the normalized archive locally — it never leaves your disk. Vault redaction lets you scrub sensitive spans, and nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly opt in to the leaderboard.

How does the leaderboard work?

A local collector meters token usage across your CLIs and renders it in the Usage card — no account needed. If you opt in, Lite publishes your totals to leaderboard.automater.ai under your GitHub identity, with evidence confidence tiers and README badges (SVG/JSON) you can embed.

Do I need Automater Desktop?

No. The archive, voice layer, widgets, and usage meters are fully standalone. If you do run Automater Desktop, Lite becomes its tray-side companion — including chatting with the platform from the Automater chat card.

How do updates work?

Auto-updates ship on the stable channel. Every binary is signed via Azure Trusted Signing, and update payloads are additionally minisign-verified before they install. WebView2 is embedded, so even the first install runs fully offline.
